Supplemental Instruction (SI)

The Academic Success Center (ASC) offers support for WCC instructors and their students through our Supplemental Instruction (SI) program. When an ASC tutor works for your course, they attend classes and hold additional study sessions outside of class hours, typically for one hour before or after class once a week. SI Tutors will focus their work on emphasizing/reiterating relevant parts of your classes and helping students obtain and practice the skills they need to succeed in your class. Outside of the class and the review session, tutors will also work with your students in the Academic Success Center-students can simply visit the ASC for additional support.

We ask that you give ASC SI tutors the chance to introduce themselves on the first day of class and talk about their role in your class. We will get your SI tutor access to the Canvas course as well. Please note: SI tutors are not Teaching Assistants, so they will not grade assignments or keep attendance for the class.
