As part of the admissions process, you will be required to verify your identity. Verifying your identity is important to Washtenaw Community College. This 2-Step process requires students to submit a valid form of identification and then verify your identity virtually or in-person at our Student Welcome Center located on the second floor of the Student Center Building. This allows WCC to confirm a student's identity and prevent identity theft.
Failure to provide a government-issued photo ID and verify your identification in a timely manner will result in your admissions processing being stopped and may impact the awarding of any financial aid.
Please submit a copy of your valid form of identification as part of the application process.
Use a phone camera, digital camera or scanner to create a color picture (jpeg) or PDF of your identification and it must include a photo. Make sure the whole document is captured and clearly legible.
If you did not provide your identity document with your admission application, you can either present this in person at the Student Welcome Center, Student Center Building, 2nd floor OR email it to verifyID@wccnet.edu and allow at least one business day for processing. When this requirement shows ‘Complete’ in your MyWCC Admission Checklist you can move on to the second step. Please follow Instructions on setting up your netID in order to locate your MyWCC, Admission Checklist.
Confirm your identity virtually or in-person at the Student Welcome Center, Student Center Building, 2nd floor.
