Washtenaw Community College President Dr. Rose B. Bellanca recently was inducted into the 2016 Class of “Women Who Lead” sponsored by Detroit news/talk radio station WJR-AM 760.

The ceremony, held in early October at the Joe Muer restaurant in the Renaissance Center, was broadcast live during the Paul W. Smith morning show.

Hosted by WJR’s Ann Thomas, “Women Who Lead” is a program that spotlights women from across the Great Lakes region who are leaders in their professions and honors them for both professional and personal accomplishments.

During the ceremony, Dr. Bellanca spoke with Paul W. about her educational journey to becoming a college president, which started with a love of teaching.

“I hope my story will inspire other women to follow their instincts and their dreams – and most importantly, believe in themselves,” said Dr. Bellanca. “It’s an honor and a privilege to be chosen for this award.”
