Getting Started in the Writing Center

Where to find the Writing Center Assignments

Your assignments are available on your course Canvas site.

How to Submit Assignments

  • If you are taking an on-campus writing course, your deadlines are printed in the Writing Center Guide. You will submit your Writing Center assignments to the on-campus Writing Center (LA 327) or to the Virtual Writing Center (on Zoom) on ro before the deadline dates. (A word of advice: The Virtual Writing Center is a wonderful resource for writing help, but it’s currently not efficient at pro- cessing Writing Center assignments, so use it as a last resort.)
  • If you are taking an online, virtual, or off-campus writing course, your instrcuotr will determine your deadlines. You will submit your writing center assignments to your course Canvas site, and your instructor will grade them.
  • Your Writing Center assignments are graded Pass/Resubmit and count as 25% of your final grade in your writing course. Your instructor will get frequent update son your progress.
  • Our job in the Writing Center is to help you pass all our Writing Center assignments. If you meet or beat your deadline dates, and work with us, you should pass all the assignments.
  • We cannot accept late Writing Center assignments. If you have a late assignment, contact your classroom instructor.
  • Notice that each Writing Center assignment has a checklist for the Writing Center staff. Make sure you have fulfilled al the requirements on the checklist before submitting your assignment. Should you fail to pass an assignment, the Writing Center staff member will explain what changes need to be made.
