About Tiara Phillips

Originally from Ingham County, Tiara Phillips moved to Ann Arbor in 2015. An avid pursuer of the arts, Tiara has been a musician since childhood, while also pursuing creative writing and art as hobbies.

As a collegiate musician she placed within the top 5 for the regional competition in NATS, or National Association of Teachers of Singing in spring of 2020, under the advanced treble category for musical theater. In fall of 2020 she placed 2nd in the state competition under the same category.

During her time at Saginaw Valley State University, Tiara sang on masterclasses with American opera singer Dr. LaToya Lain-Washington who debuted as a part of The Metropolitan Opera's "Porgy and Bess", two time Grammy Award winner and American opera singer and classical recitalist Sylvia McNair, as was invited to be on a masterclass and concert with American actor and musician Brian D'Arcy James. She has also had the great honor of working with and receiving mentorship from America's Pianist, Kevin Cole.
